DEI Leadership Strategy
Diversity & Inclusion in the Workplace
With support from Women and Gender Equality Canada, RIWC will work with a cross-section of community partners over the next two years to develop a community-based Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Leadership Strategy to promote the economic inclusion of newcomer and racialized women and gender-diverse people in Toronto’s labor market.
Through this initiative, we will aim to achieve the following Women’s Program objectives:
- Develop a new community-based DEI strategy aimed at removing barriers for women and gender-diverse communities.
- Promote cross-sectoral collaboration through the facilitation of Conversation Groups with stakeholders and participants with lived experience.
- Engage labour market sectors with low DEI compliance through an Employer Outreach Campaign.
- Recommend changes to policies and practices through the distribution of Employer Toolkits in employment sectors experiencing labour shortages.
Conversations About Diversity & Inclusion
Next year, RIWC will host a series of 8 Conversation Groups with newcomers and racialized women, and gender-diverse communities to develop community-based strategies to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in the Greater Toronto Area.
We want to hear from you! We are currently looking for community partners, stakeholders and interested participants to join our conversations at the Riverdale Hub between January and March 2025. Group participants who complete a series of 4 conversation groups are eligible to receive an honorarium of $100 to cover your time and travel expenses.
