EPE Program
The Essential Pathways to Employment (EPE) program is an 8-week course that offers basic skills training and pre-employment counseling for Ontario Works clients to assist them in accessing other programs, social support or employment. FSHT Program
RIWC’s 10-week Food Service and Hospitality Training (FSHT) program combines formal classroom-based employment skills training with more innovative experiential learning strategies to empower women with the skills they need to succeed in the food service and hospitality sector. The program’s holistic and integrated curriculum provides participants with career and skills training, and hands-on work experience in the following sub-sectors of the food service industry: (1) Food and Beverage Service; (2) Catering and Social Entrepreneurship; (3) Events Management; and (4) Office and Administration. VAW Program
The Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) program assists women and children victimized by violence by providing the emotional and practical support needed to lead a life free of abuse. The objective of the program is to increase the safety of assaulted women and their children who are fleeing violent relationships and ensure that their lives are not further endangered. Wrap Services
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, RIWC closed our on-site delivery services and currently offers a range of virtual settlement, anti-violence counseling and employment skills training programs online.
In 2020, we also set up our new COVID-19 Response Team to provide wrap-around supports for clients on social assistance who face challenges accessing housing, establishing food security, locating culturally and linguistically appropriate healthcare resources/information, or need support beyond services already delivered through our existing programs. Seniors’ Digital Literacy and Wellness Program
This fall, Riverdale Immigrant Women’s Centre is launching a new suite of Seniors’ Digital Literacy and Wellness programs to promote community engagement and digital inclusion for older adult immigrant and refugee women. Our programs are all delivered virtually to provide one-to-one mentorship and group support services for women from across the Greater Toronto Area. Find out More>>
Field Placement Student Program
Through our Placement Student Program, post-secondary students enrolled in an accredited Social Work program complete 200 to 600 workplace hours that contribute to their Social Work diploma/degree. Our placement students are mentored by our counselors and supervised by our Program Coordinator to develop essential workplace skills in a community service environment. Find out More>>
