Strategies for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
Riverdale Immigrant Women’s Centre would like to thank everyone who participated in our Multicultural Community Job Fairs this spring. More than 320 job seekers and 30 employers registered to connect, network, and explore employment opportunities throughout the Greater Toronto Area.
As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting inclusive workplaces, RIWC encourages employers to explore our free Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Toolkit. Developed with support from Women and Gender Equality Canada, the toolkit was informed by labour market research and community consultations with newcomer, racialized, BIPOC, and 2SLGBTQIA participants to identify barriers to employment and develop practical solutions.
These resources are available free of charge and can help employers strengthen inclusive recruitment, hiring, and workplace practices. We invite employers to access the toolkit and support the creation of more equitable and welcoming workplaces.
Our toolkit includes:
- A 10-minute DEI Self-Audit Assessment Tool
- A 10-module online training program
- An Inclusive Hiring Guide
Whether your organization is beginning its DEI journey or looking to strengthen existing practices, we encourage you to explore the free tools below and put these resources into action.
DEI Self-Audit Tool
A practical tool that helps employers measure and improve their inclusion and equity practices. It uses a simple 1–5 scale across three pillars: Compliance & Policy, Inclusion & Culture, and Leadership & Accountability. The tool supports small and medium-sized employers to identify strengths, close gaps, and link directly to the Self-Directed DEI Training Tool for ongoing learning.
