This fall, RIWC is launching a new Seniors’ Digital Literacy & Online Safety Program to help newcomer, racialized and other older adults build confidence using technology, safely navigate online services, and stay connected with their communities. This initiative is funded through the Ontario Seniors Community Grant Program to help seniors achieve greater financial security and build social connections in the community.

The program will feature 16 free interactive workshops covering topics such as digital literacy, accessing government and community services, financial literacy, online safety, fraud prevention, and practical everyday technology skills. Participants will also have access to one-to-one financial planning services and benefits navigation support to help seniors improve financial resilience.

We are currently seeking senior volunteers, student mentors, and community partners to support this new initiative. Whether you are interested in assisting with workshops, providing one-to-one technology support, referring participants, or collaborating on outreach, we would love to hear from you. Together, we can help more seniors gain the digital skills, confidence, and connections they need to thrive in today’s increasingly digital world.
